Case Studies & Inspo:

Data Visualisation, ISOType + Edward Tufte

ISO Type

This style is something i don't find influential, i find that the mundane aesthetic can become tedious. i think i'd find it difficult to incorporate this style of graphic design into my own project as the styles are conflicting and i'd find it hard to present my brand idea through symbols.

Edward Tufte

i much prefer edward tufte's way of data visualisation. I find that it visually has more depth and sparks more of an interest in the way it presents itself. I think that the way in which the data is presented is clever and inventive and provides an audience with a visually stimulating product.

This Week
Own experiments:

I continued to experiment using the paint brush tools. for this experiment i tried to avoid using colour. i thought that it would be interesting to try and attempt creating a poster that only used grey's and blacks. As much as it was useful creating something slightly different from what i initially wanted to create it encouraged me to definitely include some colour in my poster. However, it hellped me to realise that i dont want to use bold colour like Peter Bankov but to try using muted colours.

This was another experiment that i created. I started to think about using text or 'scribbles' to overlay over images and photographs. i found some disposable photographs of mine and thought i could incorporate them into my work somehow. i find photography inspiring and there are many posters and zine covers that i have found that use photographs as part of their focus.

These following posters are some of which i foudn particularly interesting and i think will motivate me to create something similar:
