Session 6
Post Digital & New Aesthetics
James Bridle & the Glitch aesthetic:
Aram Bartholl & Post Internet art:
This week i have been thinking more about my project and what theme i want it to adopt. I am really into Fashion and the grunge aethetic both in graphic design and in fashion, music etc. My favourite era for graphic design has to be the late 70's and 80's when David Carson and Barney Bubbles etc. made their debut. I really love the aethetic of jamie reid and others like hims work so i have been influenced to inject that aethetic and flare into my own ideas. When it comes to theme and topic i thought something along the lines of a magazine or Clothing line could work. I realise that the poster and webpages etc. has to be for an exhibition of some sort which encourages me to go for the fashion Brand idea. I have been exploring the idea of a fashion exhibition/ show exhibiting grunge fashion, with skateboarding and music influences. A photography portfolio that i created last year inspired me on the skateboarding front as its something i am passionate about and feel the aethetic coiuld link really well with the designers that have inspired me. The following photo influenced a large part of my idea...
